ISSSWQ Fellowship Guidelines

The Indian Society of Soil Salinity and Water Quality (ISSSWQ) has announced the “ISSSWQ Fellow Award” (biennium 2023–2024) in “Management of Soil Salinity and Poor-Quality Water” to promote excellence in the field of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. The award will be governed by the following rules and regulations of the society:

  1. The ISSSWQ shall elect two Fellows each alternate year from amongst the life members in recognition of their outstanding professional contributions and service to the society in the field of management of soil salinity and poor-quality water. The award will be bestowed upon the selected scientist in the plenary session of the biennial convention of the society.
  2. The award is open to all scientists/researchers/academicians. The applicant must be a life member of the society for a minimum of five years as on 31st December, 2024.
  3. The application form, as per the prescribed format along with all the necessary proofs (only first page for research papers), must be submitted via email by 15th October, 2025. All proofs must be dated on or before 31st December 2024. In case of any discrepancies between the Application Form and the Scorecard, the marks and criteria provided in the Scorecard shall be treated as final for evaluation purposes.
  4. The valid applications shall be evaluated by the Expert Committee, appointed by the President. The ISSSWQ secretariat will help the Expert Committee in its deliberations. The composition of Expert Committee will be kept confidential till the recommendations are placed before the Executive Committee of the society. The Executive Committee shall take appropriate action on the recommendations of the Judging Committee and declare the names of the persons to be bestowed with the fellow of the ISSSWQ.
  5. The evaluation criteria for the award can be downloaded from the website of the society.
  6. The award consists of a citation/plaque and a certificate of recognition.
  7. A person can receive the “ISSSWQ Fellow Award” only once in a lifetime.
  8. Nominations/applications are invited by the ISSSWQ. The announcement along with application form will be made available on the society website (https://issswq.com/). The duly filled applications as per the prescribed proforma (one hard copy and soft copy) should be sent to the General Secretary, Indian Society of Soil Salinity and Water Quality (ISSSWQ), ICAR-CSSRI Campus, Karnal, Haryana-132001 (Email: issswq2008@gmail.com).
